46 found dead inside semi-truck:

46 migrants have been found dead inside a semi-truck in southwest San Antonio.

San Antonio Fire Department Chief Charles Hood said 16 others were taken to local hospitals. 12 of them are adults.

San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg said. "It's sad, they had families and were probably trying to find a better life.

Ron Nirenberg further said that the tragic death of 46 people is no less than a horrific human tragedy.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said three suspects in connection with the case had been taken into custody.

According to San Antonio police, it is unknown at this time whether those detained are fully linked to this.

The US Department of Homeland Security was alerted by San Antonio Police to "an alleged human trafficking incident".

Officials are yet to immediately confirm whether the victims were migrants or which country they were from.
